Zhao, chairman of the National People's Congress (NPC) Standing Committee, said that Chinese President Xi Jinping maintained close exchanges with Portuguese President Antonio Jose Seguro and Portuguese Prime Minister Luis Montenegro, which provided strategic guidance for the development of bilateral ties. China stands ready to work together with Portugal to implement the important common understanding between the leaders of the two countries, deepen mutually beneficial cooperation, and promote steady and sustained progress of the China-Portugal comprehensive strategic partnership, said Zhao.
