The opening concert was held in Brasilia, with the China National Symphony Orchestra and the Claudio Santoro National Theater Symphony Orchestra from Brazil performing classic works from both countries. Brazilian conductor Claudio Cohen said that the Claudio Santoro National Theater Symphony Orchestra has collaborated with Chinese partners several times, crediting the role of music in building cultural links. "It is an extremely joyful concert with a lot of positive energy. The connection of Chinese music and Brazilian music brought the two countries together. Music is able to play such a strong role," said Cohen. Following the concert in Brasilia, the orchestras then traveled to the historic Brazilian cities of Natal on April 9 and to Fortaleza on April 11.
