        <headline xml:lang="en">New, high-tech industrial automation products take limelight at Canton Fair</headline>
        <description role="CCTVPLUSdescrole:Storyline" xml:lang="en">
Newly launched, high-tech products in industrial automation and smart manufacturing are taking a center stage at the ongoing 139th China Import and Export Fair, or Canton Fair, drawing strong interest from global buyers and highlighting China's push toward higher-end manufacturing.

The current edition of the fair is taking place in three distinct 5-day phases in the southern Chinese city of Guangzhou from April 15 to May 5.

The first phase running from April 15-19 is themed "advanced manufacturing," featuring 19 exhibition areas in five major sections including electronics and home appliances, and industrial manufacturing.

Over 12,000 enterprises are showcasing their products featuring high-end intelligence, green and low-carbon technologies.

At the industrial automation and smart manufacturing section, products on display include Computerized Numerical Control (CNC) machine tools, industrial robots, automated production lines, as well as intelligent logistics and warehousing equipment, attracting widespread attention from buyers.

One of the newly unveiled products at the fair, a five-axis CNC machine tool, has proved popular among overseas buyers. Unlike conventional three-axis machines, the equipment allows the cutting tool and workpiece to move along five axes -- up and down, left and right, forward and backward, plus two rotational axes -- enabling high-precision machining of complex curved surfaces such as turbines and rotors. The machine is also equipped with intelligent software, making it easy for even first-time users to operate.

The machine is notably compact, about the size of a microwave oven, making it well suited for small and micro-sized enterprises engaged in new product research and development. This also reflects how China's CNC machine tool industry is shifting from scale-driven growth toward higher-end and smarter development. A company representative said the machine has attracted strong buyer interest and numerous business inquiries from more than 100 other countries and regions, with production slots for new orders filled for the next two months.

The current edition of the fair has seen a notable increase in robots and robotic dogs on display, as embodied smart robots and inspection robotic dogs move more quickly into industrial settings, helping drive manufacturing upgrades.

For example, a robotic hand on display features fingers capable of highly flexible gripping and movement, powered by built-in micro motors. These motors are critical to the operating capability, flexibility and stability of humanoid robots, with a single hand of this kind typically requiring 13 micro motors.

To meet the needs of the development of embodied robotics, the relevant companies say they are continuing to reduce the size of motor modules while maintaining millisecond-level response speeds. The technology is already being used in surgical and industrial robots.

More notably, a growing number of companies are moving beyond simply selling equipment and are instead offering integrated solutions that combine hardware, software and system services. According to preliminary survey data from the current edition of the Canton Fair, nearly one-third of exhibitors are actively shifting toward a "product-plus-service" model.
