Wang, also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, made the remarks while meeting with visiting Pakistani Chief of Defense Forces and Chief of Army Staff Asim Munir in Beijing. He first extended a warm welcome to Munir’s visit to China, alongside Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who was on an official visit to China from May 23 to 26 at the invitation of Chinese Premier Li Qiang. Wang said no matter how international and regional situations change, the friendship between China and Pakistan remains rock-solid and unbreakable. He added that the Pakistani military has always been an important force in promoting China-Pakistan cooperation, and he believes that it will make new contributions to deepening the traditional friendship and building a China-Pakistan community with a shared future. Munir said that the four major global initiatives proposed by Chinese President Xi Jinping and the Belt and Road Initiative have played a pivotal role in promoting world peace and development.
