"The so-called maritime delimitation area proposed by Japan and the Philippines is located east of the Taiwan Island, where China enjoys exclusive economic zone and continental shelf rights. By bypassing China to unilaterally initiate these delimitation negotiations, Japan and the Philippines have seriously infringed upon China's maritime rights and interests, violated international law and basic norms of international relations. Such actions are therefore completely illegal and invalid," said Zhang. "The DPP authorities, bowing and pandering to external forces, are nothing but traitors to the nation.
