        <headline xml:lang="en">Danish engineering giant deepens commitment to Chinese market</headline>
        <description role="CCTVPLUSdescrole:Storyline" xml:lang="en">
Danfoss, a Danish engineering giant specialized in automation systems and industrial equipment, is committed to deepening its foothold in the Chinese market, said the company's CEO.

With the first China plant established in November 1996 in the port city of Tianjin, Danfoss has been deepening its China presence for three decades. The company's CEO Kim Fausing, speaking in a recent interview with Global Television Network (CGTN), said that in that time, the company held fast to a vision that China should be its "second home " -- a market where the company has truly seen bright prospects.

With around 5,000 employees, Danfoss has remained committed to expanding its bases to more regions across China, in a bid to pursue a steady and sustainable development.

"We have, step by step, been investing, localizing, building up an organization where we had not only sales and marketing. We built up strong manufacturing base. We built up a strong engineering base. We have some of the best engineers here in the world. We have speed in our processes. And then we have built up centers where we co-develop with our customers and partners here since a while," said Fausing.

Last year, Danfoss opened its largest production facility in China as the company inaugurated its second factory in Haiyan, an advanced manufacturing hub in east China's Zhejiang Province.

"Step by step, we have been investing and we have continuously been investing here lately. Right, we opened last year now our largest campus until now, actually. And with 130,000 square meters in Haiyan, which makes us very proud. But it shows also that you need to continue to invest. You need to have up-to-date facilities. You need to have modern facilities, best processes in order to really compete in China. And that has been a tremendous development," said the CEO.

In its three decades in the Chinese market, Danfoss has witnessed the rise of China's own advanced manufacturing capabilities. Yet, Fausing said, the Danish company has never viewed competition with domestic producers as a threat.

"We kind of, in Danfoss, invite the competition. We are not afraid of competition. We think it's part of being healthy. It's part of being faster. It's part of having the incentive to move faster. And therefore we actually really embrace this competition you see in China. We are very proud of the speed you learn in China. It's something we can apply globally," he said.
