        <headline xml:lang="en">West Bank strained as Israeli settlers, military intensify operations</headline>
        <description role="CCTVPLUSdescrole:Storyline" xml:lang="en">
The already fragile lives of Palestinians in the West Bank are being further eroded by a surge in Israeli settler violence and ongoing military operations, dimming hopes for any return to normalcy in the near future.

On July 24, dozens of Israeli settlers stormed into Tal village, west of the West Bank city of Nablus, triggering clashes that left four Palestinians and one Israeli dead. In the days that followed, Israeli forces conducted sweeping raids across Palestinian communities, while multiple villages reported settler attacks.

A Palestinian resident in Raba village said Israeli settlers have taken over at least half of the land.

"For about a year and a half now, the settlements here have been expanding. They've taken more than 50 percent of the land here -- particularly in the east, southeast, and northeast," said Sami al-Buzur, a famer.

Settler violence against nearby villages has been rising in tandem.

For Sami al-Buzur, attacks on farmers and shepherds have become a daily reality -- jeopardizing not just personal safety, but also access to farmland and grazing pastures that families have depended on.

"The Israeli settlers keep coming after us. Their aim is to steal livestock, stop people from reaching their own land, and prevent shepherds from entering grazing areas," he said.

Omer Shatz, a legal expert, said that settler violence often goes hand in hand with military measures that restrict Palestinian access to land.

"There was always a division of labor where the settlers are the ones that, like the militia, go first. They create the friction, they create an alleged risk to their own lives, which justifies the army coming in and protecting, of course, the settlers against 'offenders', of course, or Palestinians," he said.

According to U.N. official statistics, settler attacks have steadily increased in recent years as Israel continues to expand and push for the legalization of Israeli settlements and unauthorized outposts in the West Bank. Palestinians and human rights groups have warned that these moves are making territorial contiguity in the West Bank -- a key pillar of a viable and sovereign Palestinian state -- increasingly out of reach.

The latest wave of settler violence, one of the deadliest in months, has fueled international concern over the future of Palestinian communities across the West Bank. With Israeli settlements expanding, land being seized, and movement restrictions tightening, fears of further displacement and violence continue to mount.
