In July alone, the Qingcheng Mountain-Dujiangyan Scenic Area received nearly 30,000 trips of overseas visitors, up around 30 percent year on year. Visitors stroll along forest trails shaded by towering trees and cool off in clear streams. The camps offer barbecues, local delicacies and hands-on cultural experiences, such as making lacquer fans, which are popular traditional craft items featured in intangible cultural heritage showcases of local Bashu culture. "I think this place is very good and there are so many trees, water and there are places where people can play here, for children and so on. Actually, I feel a little cold and I'm dressed in my jacket," said Ahmed, a tourist from Saudi Arabia. "We came out here today.
