The May figure represents a 64.7 percent contraction from May 2025, with the previous record low of 200.43 million dollars recorded in March 2015, said the BSP. Total FDI net inflows for the first five months of 2026 reached 2.18 billion dollars, down 33.4 percent from 3.27 billion dollars in the same period last year. The BSP attributed the decline to lower foreign investments in debt instruments and reduced reinvestment of earnings.
