Debise's performances have been turning heads as he has powered his way to six race victories so far in the highly-competitive Supersport World Championship, the top support category of the Superbike World Championship, with the breakthrough first win for the Chongqing-based brand coming at the Portuguese round back in March. With the series currently on a summer break, Debise took the opportunity to make his first ever trip to China, with a five-day visit from Wednesday to Sunday. On the afternoon of his arrival, Debise enjoyed an excitable first meeting with founder Zhang at an off-road motorcycle training base in southwest China's Chongqing, with the pair sharing a warm embrace before suiting up to test-ride the new MX250 model together. The French rider was later seen signing merchandise and greeting fans, and said he was thrilled to get the chance to come to China earlier than originally planned. "The feeling is very good to come to China. From the beginning of the year I've been connected with the Chinese people because of all the story and the victory with ZXMOTO. So I was planning to come at the end of the year, but in the end I took myself to China a bit earlier. I'm very proud to have made it because I wanted to meet the fans – and that was the highlight of my trip, seeing all the fans and the excitement around me. So it was very cool," he said. Hopes are high for Debise, who currently sits in second place in the championship with four race weekends of the season still to go, and will be chasing more success when the championship resumes at his home race in France early next month. ZXMOTO's founder Zhang was full of praise for the experienced French rider and said the team will be doing everything it can to further develop the machinery as it goes flat out in pursuit of a potentially historic title. "He has a wealth of experience as he has competed in all kinds of races and ridden motorcycles from many different brands. He can quickly identify issues with the motorcycle or areas that need improvement and relay that information precisely to the engineers. With his feedback, the engineers can rapidly upgrade or adjust the motorcycle, and in this way, our motorcycle upgrades will be faster and more efficient," said Zhang. Debise said he was deeply impressed by the warmth and enthusiasm of the Chinese fans during his trip.
