        <description role="CCTVPLUSdescrole:Storyline" xml:lang="en">
A second batch of emergency humanitarian aid supplies provided by the Chinese government to disaster-hit Nepal arrived in the capital Kathmandu on Tuesday afternoon, as the intensive rescue and relief operations continue in the wake of last week's deadly mudslide on the China-Nepal border.

The supplies, totaling 5.8 tonnes, were delivered aboard a Chinese Y-20 transport plane at the Tribhuvan International Airport. Among the items were drones and water purification, lighting and genetic testing equipment, which were flown out from the Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport in south China earlier on Tuesday afternoon.

The mission also brought five Chinese DNA identification experts to Nepal, who will now travel to the affected areas to provide assistance in the ongoing search and rescue work, as thousands of people are still feared missing.

One airport worker expressed gratitude for the essential aid donated by China.

"We are very delighted to receive the aid supplies from China at a time when our country is grappling with crises. We believe these aid supplies will bring us tremendous support," said the staff member at the Tribhuvan International Airport.

China had earlier sent the first batch of relief supplies and four Chinese rescue experts to Kathmandu to assist in disaster relief efforts. This initial batch, which arrived in Nepal on Sunday, included tents, blankets, sleeping bags, hardtack and emergency kits.

Nepalese authorities said Tuesday that the death toll from the massive mudslide, which was triggered by the collapse of a high-altitude glacier on the Nepalese side of the border, had risen to 1,010, with 4,599 people still missing.
