The event was jointly organized by the governments of the HKSAR and the Macao SAR and the China Manned Space Agency. It featured expert briefings, on-orbit demonstrations, and a question-and-answer session, a rare opportunity for a real-time dialogue between students and astronauts in space. Among the three Shenzhou-23 astronauts was Lai Ka-ying, HKSAR's first payload specialist, whose alma mater is the host school. That made the event especially meaningful for many local students. Chief Executive of the HKSAR John Lee Ka-chiu, along with government officials from both the HKSAR and the Macao SAR, attended the event alongside more than 200 primary and secondary students. The session was also broadcast live on the HKSAR government's news portal and major local media outlets, allowing the wider public to witness the historic moment.
