At the end of August, outstanding yuan loans stood at 282.35 trillion yuan (about 42 trillion U.S. dollars), up 4.9 percent year on year, according to the People's Bank of China. M2, a broad measure of money supply that covers cash in circulation and all deposits, had increased by 7.5 percent year on year to 356.81 trillion yuan (about 53.2 trillion U.S. dollars) at the end of August. China's outstanding aggregate financing to the real economy stood at 464.8 trillion yuan (about 69.3 trillion U.S. dollars) at the end of August, up 7.2 percent year on year, the central bank noted. Loans in five major areas - technology finance, green finance, inclusive finance, pension finance and digital finance - have continued to grow at double-digit rates, accounting for over 70 percent of the total increase in all loans, as more credit is channeled towards new growth drivers such as technological innovation and green transition.
