In a daily report, the Russian Defense Ministry said Russian forces took control of a settlement in the Kharkiv region, and continued combat operations with the aim of seizing two other settlements in the area. It also said Russian drones struck a dry-cargo ship carrying supplies for Ukrainian forces at sea on the day. The vessel was heading for the Port of Chornomorsk in Odesa. On the same day, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said that Ukrainian forces carried out a military strike against the Omsk Oil Refinery, marking the second attack on the facility this year. Omsk Region Governor Vitaly Khotsenko said on Thursday that a drone reached the northern industrial zone of Omsk city, home to a cluster of key petrochemical facilities including the Omsk Oil Refinery, one of the largest in Russia. Also on Thursday, Kiev Mayor Vitali Klitschko said Russian strikes on the Ukrainian capital had caused heavy casualties, leaving four people dead and 19 injured, including two in critical condition. Thirteen of those injured have been hospitalized, with critical patients under intensive care. Earlier on the day, Ukraine's Ministry of Energy reported Russian attacks on power grid facilities in Kiev, causing power outages in multiple locations. Extensive power outages affected parts of the city, disrupting electricity service for a large number of residents, and causing unstable power supply in some areas. Russian forces also attacked two passenger buses in the Donetsk region on Thursday, killing at least 30 people, according to local officials.
