        <headline xml:lang="en">2026 APEC CEO Summit to be held in Shenzhen, featuring over 2,000 participants</headline>
        <description role="CCTVPLUSdescrole:Storyline" xml:lang="en">
The 2026 APEC CEO Summit will be held in Shenzhen City in south China's Guangdong Province from November 17 to 18, with more than 2,000 participants expected from political, business, media, and other sectors, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) said at a press conference on Friday.

Organizers have been wrapping up preparations for the summit in an orderly manner, according to CCPIT spokesperson Wang Wenshuai.

"The China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) will hold the 2026 APEC CEO Summit in Shenzhen from November 17 to 18. The summit is the highest-level meeting at which leaders of APEC economies and business representatives discuss openness and cooperation in the Asia-Pacific region and jointly promote regional economic development. All preparations have now entered the countdown stage and are progressing steadily and in an orderly manner. More than 2,000 participate from political, business, media, and other sectors are expected to join the summit. Leaders of several APEC economies will attend in person to deliver speeches, give remarks, or take part in thematic discussions, and will exchange views face to face with business leaders from the Asia-Pacific region," Wang said.

"Business representatives from all 21 APEC economies will attend the summit, while well-known enterprises from several non-APEC countries such as the United Kingdom, France, Germany, and Switzerland have signed up for the event. This fully reflects that in an uncertain world, China is the greatest certainty. Enterprises in the Asia-Pacific region and the world are full of expectations for the APEC China Year and for taking the express train of China's 15th Five-Year Plan development," she said.

Wang also said that among all APEC economies, the U.S. is sending the largest number of business representatives.

Leaders of APEC economies, heads of international organizations, and representatives of leading Chinese and global businesses will engage in discussions on topics, such as the building of the Free Trade Area of the Asia-Pacific, connectivity, artificial intelligence, the digital economy, the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, sustainable development, and digital and green transformation, according to the CCIPT.
