At the meeting, Wang, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), said that China is willing to work with Russia to take the important consensus reached by the heads of state of the two countries as the fundamental guideline, maintain strategic resolve, deepen practical cooperation and promote the China-Russia comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership for a new era to a higher level. He said the CPPCC National Committee is willing to enhance exchanges and mutual learning with the Russian side and contribute to the development of bilateral relations. Also speaking at the meeting, Matviyenko expressed congratulations on the successful convening of the fifth plenary session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China late last month, saying that Russia-China relations have continued to move forward under the guidance of the heads of state of the two countries. The Russian Federation Council stands ready to strengthen exchanges with the CPPCC National Committee and promote multi-field cooperation between the two countries, Matviyenko said.
