In their first joint meeting since last week's election, the leaders pledged to act swiftly to replace Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's government and agreed to recommend Eisenkot to President Isaac Herzog, who, under Israeli law, would launch on Wednesday a consultation process with party leaders before choosing a lawmaker to form the next government. "The party leaders are united and will act immediately to replace the October 7 government with a national emergency government and realize the clear majority in the parliament," they said in a joint statement. "The party leaders coordinated plans and steps to exercise the parliamentary majority immediately, in the first days of the new parliament," the joint statement said. Lawmakers in Eisenkot's bloc said in recent days that they would move to replace the parliamentary speaker and repeal laws enacted under Netanyahu's judicial overhaul. The bloc holds only 48 seats in the 120-member parliament, against 53 for Netanyahu's bloc. The two Arab parties, which have said they would back any coalition excluding Netanyahu, won 19 seats, giving the opposition a combined majority of 67. While one opposition leader, Yair Golan from the party The Democrats, supports cooperation with the Arab parties, the others have ruled it out, complicating efforts to form a government. اتفق قادة أحزاب المعارضة اليهودية الرئيسية في إسرائيل يوم الثلاثاء/ 3 نوفمبر على دعم رئيس أركان الجيش الإسرائيلي الأسبق غادي آيزنكوت لتولي منصب رئيس الوزراء المقبل، لكنهم ظلوا منقسمين حول كيفية تشكيل حكومة تحظى بالأغلبية. وفي أول اجتماع مشترك لهم منذ الانتخابات التي أجريت الأسبوع الماضي، تعهّد القادة بالعمل سريعاً لاستبدال حكومة رئيس الوزراء بنيامين نتنياهو، واتفقوا على التوصية بترشيح رئيس حزب "يشار" آيزنكوت، للرئيس إسحاق هرتسوغ لتكليفه بتشكيل الحكومة المقبلة. وبموجب القانون الإسرائيلي، سيبدأ هرتسوغ يوم الأربعاء عملية مشاورات مع قادة الأحزاب قبل اختيار أحد المشرعين لتشكيل الحكومة المقبلة. وقال قادة الأحزاب في بيان مشترك: "نحن متحدون وسنتحرك فوراً لاستبدال حكومة السابع من أكتوبر بحكومة طوارئ وطنية، وتحقيق أغلبية واضحة في البرلمان." وجاء في البيان المشترك أن قادة الأحزاب نسّقوا الخطط والخطوات اللازمة لممارسة الأغلبية البرلمانية على الفور، وذلك في الأيام الأولى للبرلمان الجديد. وذكر مشرعون من معسكر آيزنكوت مؤخرا أنهم سيعملون على استبدال رئيس البرلمان وإلغاء القوانين التي سُنّت في إطار خطة نتنياهو للإصلاح القضائي. يذكر أن معسكر آيزنكوت حصل على 48 مقعداً في البرلمان المكون من 120 عضواً، مقابل 53 مقعداً لمعسكر نتنياهو. أما الحزبان العربيان، اللذان أكدا دعمهما لأي ائتلاف يستبعد نتنياهو، فقد فازا بـ19 مقعداً، مما يمنح المعارضة أغلبية إجمالية تبلغ 67 مقعداً. وفي حين يؤيد أحد قادة المعارضة، يائير غولان من حزب الديمقراطيين، التعاون مع الأحزاب العربية، فقد استبعد قادة آخرون ذلك، وهو ما يزيد من تعقيد جهود تشكيل الحكومة.
