Storyline


A van driver survived a breathtaking accident after his vehicle was hit by a concrete mixer truck in the county-level city of Yizheng in east China's Jiangsu Province on Sunday.

Surveillance footage showed the 20-ton concrete mixer crashing into the van at an intersection. The van was crushed by the truck, but the driver escaped without injury.

The truck driver was stuck in the cab after the accident and had to be rescued by firefighters. His only injuries were scratches on his legs.

The truck driver said that he had pulled on the steering wheel to make the truck turn onto its side, which avoided a head-on crash with the van and saved the van driver.

"If I had not pulled on the steering wheel, my truck would have crushed the van, and the van driver would have died," said the truck driver.

The cause of the accident is currently under investigation.
