President Xi will also witness the signing of some important cooperative documents including the memorandum of understanding on healthcare cooperation within the framework of 'Belt and Road' initiative."

A senior Chinese diplomat on Wednesday briefed media about Chinese President Xi Jinping's upcoming visit to Switzerland and his activities at the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos.

Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Li Baodong has given the briefing in Beijing about President Xi's Jan. 15-18 visit at the invitation of the Federal Council of Switzerland.

"President Xi Jinping will fully exchange views with the Swiss leaders on bilateral relations, respective development paths, internal and foreign policies, and international and regional hot-spot issues of common concern. The two sides will sign several cooperative agreements ranging from politics, free trade, culture, Customs, energy, development cooperation, to sports," said Li Baodong.

The Chinese president will also visit the UN Geneva Office, the World Health Organization and the headquarters of the International Olympic Committee.

"During his visit, President Xi will deliver a keynote speech on building the community of common destiny in the UN Geneva Office. He will meet with President of UN General Assembly Peter Thomson, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, World Health Organization Director-General Margaret Chan and President of International Olympic Committee Thomas Bach. President Xi will also witness the signing of some important cooperative documents including the memorandum of understanding on healthcare cooperation within the framework of 'Belt and Road' initiative," the vice foreign minister said.

While in Davos, the Chinese president will speak at the opening session of the 47th WEF annual meeting, at the invitation of WEF founder and executive chairman Klaus Schwab.
