China looks forward to working with the new U.S. administration to ensure greater development of bilateral ties, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying said at a daily press conference on Thursday, a day before the inauguration of U.S. President-elect Donald Trump.
Describing Sino-U.S. ties as one of the most important bilateral relations in the world, Hua noted that the United States is world's largest developed country and China is world's largest developing country, and the two nations are world's largest economies.

"It is in the common interests of the two peoples that the China-U.S. relations maintain a healthy and stable growth," said Hua.

"In fact, the development of Sino-U.S. relations over the past years fully proves that the common interests of the two countries far outweigh their differences and their cooperation can help accomplish significant things that benefit not only the two countries, but also the rest of the world," Hua said.

Either for the interests of the two countries and peoples, or for the promotion of world peace, stability and development, China and the U.S. have every reason to expect and believe they will make joint efforts to ensure the sound and steady development of Sino-U.S. relations along the right track, according to Hua.
