Storyline

Nearly 100 designers from China and abroad will display their works at China Fashion Week (A/W 2017/2018), with 60 percent of designers being first-time China Fashion Week participants.

The first show presented the designing and practicability of autumn and winter fashionable dresses. According to the designer, the dresses feel more comfortable being made of silk, cotton, fiber, or wool, and show more of a sense of design with the application of various colors, including blacks, whites, camel, greens and reds.

"The sense of design, including the application of materials and colors, as well as the whole designing style, fully displays the growth of self-owned brands," said Zhang Qinghui, president of China Fashion Association.

As one of the most important stages of Chinese fashion, China Fashion week serves as a promotional platform for self-owned brands.

"There will be more Chinese fashion designs presented at China Fashion Week, and that will tell their original fashion stories to consumers of China and the world," said Zhang Huaming, vice-president of China Fashion Association.

The fashion week opened on Saturday in Beijing, and 2017 marks its 20th anniversary.
