On Monday night, A suicide bomber killed 22 people and injured 59 others at an Ariana Grande concert in Manchester Arena. Many of the attendees at the concert were children.

"I could hear it from my apartment window last night. It was quite chaotic. We have a cafe down there, we are open today. You can see all the businesses are closed, We're only here to express some positivity and to be here for our community. We're offering free food and drink, and shelter for all that are stranded and need help," said a resident.

Although the area where the blast occurred has been cordoned off, some local residents have come here to show their condolences.

The incident is one of the most devastating attacks the UK has suffered since the 7/7 London bombings in 2005. The UK was planning to hold a public election on June 8, however the incident has created tension in the atmosphere. The UK's governing party – The Conservative Party - have announced a hiatus on all campaigns related to the election.

Some experts think that the attack was made to affect the election, however some of the local people believe that the attack was purely malicious.

"Yes. It might affect some people. But I don't think with me, will affect me because I don't think any religion will ask people to kill. These are individuals who have taken upon themselves to do evil acts. It's not concerning any religion. They are just people who are wicked. It's evil and who have been brainwashed with such fundamental ideas, which I don't know where it comes from but it should be stopped immediately," said another resident.

Extremist group the Islamic State (IS) has claimed responsibility for the brutal attack. The attack was reportedly carried out by a man who detonated an improvised explosive just as the concert had finished.
