"Poll after poll tells us that in the past five years and perhaps longer, the single most important concern among us Hong Kong people is housing, or the lack of affordability of decent housing. That's why housing or housing supply is one of the four main areas of work for this government as soon as I was elected. Over the past five years, we managed to manage down, and in some cases manage out three types of non-occupational demand, investment demand, speculative demand and external demand, demand from people living outside Hong Kong. These three types of non-occupational demand come from very insignificant proportion of the total demand. And at the same time, we are creating more land, releasing more land out to the market. So much so that, the number of units, private sector units being built, which will become available in the next three or four years because that's the normal building circle, is now 96,000 units, which represents 48 percent of increase on the figure when I took office five years ago."

7. SOUNDBITE (English) Leung Chun-ying, Chief Executive of Hong Kong (partially overlaid with shot 4):
"Among the 600 cities in the country, Hong Kong is the most open and the most international. We obviously have the benefit of one country, because we are a part of China, but we also have added benefit of practicing, so to speak, the other system. And this other system, whether it is the judicial system, whether it is the market system, the economic system, or the legal system, are more similar to the systems practiced by most of the countries in international community. And so we could bring this to bear for the benefit of both Hong Kong, China as a whole, and foreign countries."
