Afghan Chief Executive Abdullah Abdullah and visiting Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi agreed in Kabul, Afghanistan Saturday that the two countries will further strengthen cooperation in all fields.

Afghanistan-China relations have been continuously making positive progress in recent years, said Abdullah, adding that the Belt and Road Initiative brought about new opportunities for cooperation.

He said Afghanistan is willing to boost cooperation with China in fighting terrorism and make joint efforts to maintain regional peace and stability.

The Chinese foreign minister said the two countries have made pragmatic achievements through cooperation in various fields. China is willing to work together with Afghanistan in implementing the Belt and Road Initiative, strengthening cooperation in the fields of interconnectivity and intercommunication, improving people's welfare and boosting socio-economic development.

Wang expressed gratitude to the Afghan side for support in the crack down on the "East Turkistan Islamic Movement" terrorist group, and said China supports Afghanistan in promoting the inclusive reconciliation process.

He said that as a common friend of both Afghanistan and Pakistan, China sincerely hopes that the two countries can enhance communications, strengthen mutual trust and send out positive signals to the international society.

Le chef de l'exécutif afghan Abdullah Abdullah et le ministre chinois des Affaires étrangères, Wang Yi, en visite en Afghanistan, sont convenus samedi que les deux pays vont renforcer leur coopération dans tous les domaines.

Au cours de ces dernières années, les relations entre l'Afghanistan et la Chine ont réalisé des progrès de façon continue, a déclaré M. Abdullah, ajoutant que l'Initiative ''la Ceinture et la Route'' avait créé de nouvelles occasions de coopération.

Il a affirmé que l'Afghanistan était prêt à intensifier la coopération avec la Chine dans la lutte contre le terrorisme et à déployer des efforts conjoints visant à maintenir la paix et la stabilité dans la région.

De son côté, le ministre chinois a déclaré que les deux pays avaient édifié des réalisations pragmatiques grâce à la coopération dans différents domaines. La Chine veut travailler de concert avec l'Afghanistan afin de mettre en œuvre l'Initiative ''la Ceinture et la Route,'' renforcer la coopération dans les domaines de l'interconnexion et de l'intercommunication, améliorer le bien-être des peuples et stimuler le développement socio-économique.

M. Wang a exprimé sa gratitude envers la partie afghane pour le soutien qu'elle a apporté dans la lutte contre les forces terroristes du "Mouvement islamique du Turkestan oriental''. Il a également fait savoir que la Chine soutenait l'Afghanistan dans ses efforts en matière de promotion d'un processus de réconciliation inclusif.

Il a par ailleurs ajouté qu'en tant qu'ami commun de l'Afghanistan et du Pakistan, la Chine espère sincèrement que les deux pays pourront renforcer leur communication, leur confiance mutuelle et adresser des signaux positifs à la communauté internationale.
