"When it started raining, there were vehicles at the up-stream section. But the road surface suddenly arched upward due to the flood and blocked the raging water. Many vehicles were washed down. There was little water in my shop, but much on the road. The vehicles and tricycles were all washed away. My heart was beating fast, and I was so scared that I feared to not go anywhere. The houses on the opposite side kept falling one after the other."

Rainstorm wreaked havoc in Yulin City of northwest China's Shaanxi Province Sunday afternoon, damaging roads and houses and washed away vehicles.

Torrential rain began to lash on the city at round 16:30 on Sunday. Flash flood triggered by the downpour ravaged through the old town, destroying at least ten shops.

"When the rain started, there were vehicles at the up-stream section, but the road surface suddenly arched up due to the flood and blocked the raging water. Many vehicles were washed down. There was little water in my shop, but much on road. The vehicles and tricycles were all washed away. My heart beat faster and I was so scared and dare not to go anywhere. The houses on the opposite side kept falling one by one," said Li, owner of a cake shop.

Disaster relief work is currently underway and the property loss as well as casualties are still being calculated.

According to the local meteorological department, the brief thunderstorm forecast to last until Friday is likely to hit many parts of Yulin.

Beaucoup de véhicules ont été emportés. Il y avait peu d'eaux dans mon magasin, mais il y en avait beaucoup dans la rue. Les véhicules et les tricycles ont tous été emportés. Mon cœur battait plus fort, j'ai eu tellement peur et je n'osais aller nulle part. Les maisons en face s'effondraient l'une après l'autre."

La tempête de pluie a causé des ravages dans la ville de Yulin, dans la province du Shaanxi, dans le nord-ouest de la Chine, dimanche après-midi, endommageant des routes et des maisons et emportant des véhicules.

Des pluies torrentielles ont commencé à frapper la ville à 16 h 30 dimanche. Les inondations causées par les averses ont sévi dans la vieille ville, détruisant au moins dix boutiques.

Les opérations de secours sont actuellement en cours et les chiffres des pertes humaines et matérielles ne sont pas encore établis.

Selon le département météorologique local, la pluie torrentielle de courte durée qui devrait durer jusqu'à vendredi risque de frapper de nombreuses parties de Yulin.

"عندما بدأت الأمطار بالتساقط، كانت السيارات متوقفة على الطريق. ولكن غمرت مياه الفياضانات الطريق فجأة وجرفت العديد من المركبات. كانت كمية المياه في متجرى قليلة، لكن كمية المياه كبيرة على الطريق، حيث جرفت العربات والدراجات ذات العجلات الثلاثية بالكامل. كنت أشعر بالقلق الشديد وخائفة جدا في ذلك الحين. لم أتجرأ على الذهاب إلى أي مكان. حيث كانت المنازل تسقط واحدة تلو الآخرى على الجانب الآخر. "

تسببت العواصف الممطرة في حالة من الفوضى في مدينة يولين بمقاطعة شنشي بشمال غربي الصين بعد ظهر يوم الاحد/ 23 يوليو الجاري، مما ادى الى تضرر الطرق والمنازل وغمر السيارات بالمياه.

بدأ هطول الامطار الغزيرة في في مدينة يولين في الساعة 16:30 بعد ظهر الاحد. واجتاحت الفيضانات الناجمة عن الامطار الغزيرة البلدة القديمة، مما ادى الى تضرر اكثر من عشرة محلات تجارية .

ولاتزال اعمال الإغاثة من الكوارث جارية، وتجري عملية حصر الخسائر التي لحقت بالممتلكات فضلا عن الإصابات.

وذكرت مصلحة الارصاد الجوية المحلية انه من المتوقع أن تستمر العواصف الرعدية حتى يوم الجمعة وقد تصل الى اجزاء واسعة من مدينة يولين.
