"What matters to us is their policy toward the mainland regardless of the personnel change of the Taiwan authorities. In terms of the cross-Strait relations, the most important question the authorities of the Democratic Progressive Party needs to answer is the nature of the cross-Strait relations. Only the acknowledgment of the 1992 Consensus and the fact that both sides belong to one China can bring the cross-Strait relations to the right track of peaceful development. As to the issue of Taiwan's participation in APEC activities, we should deal with it in accordance with the one-China principle the relevant APEC Memorandum of Understanding (MOU)."
