Storyline


An outdoor carnival kicked off on Friday in Wuzhen town, Tongxiang city of east China's Zhejiang Province alongside with the ongoing theater festival, offering both locals and visitors a rare opportunity to appreciate and even interact with street artists.

Bringing theater and fun to the street was CQP productions company from Spain.

Visiting Wuzhen for the very first time, the artists were thrilled to interact with the Chinese audience.

"Something that is really international, that is the humor. The differences between countries are very little and you can see that and it's very funny to see, and everybody can understand, that's amazing," said Marc Cartanya, actor from CQP Productions.

During the Outdoor Carnival, artists from all over the world will perform for visitors in over 500 performances, including street theater, music, performing art, traditional Chinese opera and many others.

Audiences can come face to face with the vitality of the Carnival amid the ambience of Wuzhen's charming walkways.

"It's a kind of new performance, I've never seen it before but it feels affable when I heard the mouse squeaks,"said a spectator.

"The street has something special, that is, in the street, everybody is equal, we think that street theater is like the most democratic form of theater and it's open to everybody," said Marc.
