"The venues are on track. Twenty-one out of the 26 venues to be built, competition and non-competitions, are either in the final design stage or at the start of constructions. We insisted very much as well on the legacy and sustainability, and here they are doing a very good work in in this respect, especially for the two areas which were outlined in the evaluation commission report, the Yanqing Zone and Zhangjiakou, so here it's very good and quality work that is being delivered."

China has made good progress in its preparation work for the 2022 Winter Olympics, said an official of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) in Lausanne, Switzerland, on Wednesday.
Christophe Dubi, the IOC Executive Director for the Olympic Games, made the remarks after the work report of the 2022 Winter Olympics was delivered to the IOC Executive Board.
"The venues are on track. Twenty-one out of the 26 venues to be built, competition and non-competitions, are either in the final design stage or at the start of constructions. We insisted very much as well on the legacy and sustainability, and here they are doing a very good work in this respect, especially for the two areas which were outlined in the evaluation commission report, the Yanqing Zone and Zhangjiakou, so here it's very good and quality work that is being delivered," said Dubi.
Dubi was also impressed by the business development plans being made by the Beijing Organizing Committee.
"We also outlined the commercial success, which is really excellent for the Winter Games. We have unprecedented numbers that are being delivered by the organizing committee, so this is excellent," added Dubi.
The 2022 Winter Olympics are set to be held in Beijing and in Zhangjiakou City of north China's Hebei Province from February 4 to February 20, 2022.
