Wonderful rime-covered trees in the mountainous regions of east, central and south China have presented a special wintry view to both locals and visitors.

The main peak of Tiantai Mountain in east China's Zhejiang Province saw its first rime on Sunday due to a sudden drop in temperature. Part of the trees on the mountain were covered by snow while green and yellow peaked through some branches here and there – forming a beautiful layer of varied colors on the top.

In central China's Hunan Province, the snow scenery at Tianmenshan scenic area in Zhangjiajie City attracted over 20,000 visitors over the weekend.

As tourists walked over a wooden walkway along the mountain cliff, they saw the gorgeous view of rime-covered tree branches and snow from a distance.

A cold wave that has lasted for days in Jianning County of east China's Fujian Province has brought the temperature down in the region. On Sunday rime-covered trees were visible on the Jinnao Mountain. Many visitors, surprised by the site, were seen taking photos of the beautiful landscape.

In south China's Guangdong Province, cold wave brought its first snow to the north mountainous areas on Saturday, creating amazing rime scenery on Jinzi Mountain in Lianshan County.

As tourists climbed their way up, they clicked photos of this rare winter scene in an otherwise warm Guangdong.
