Storyline


The International Olympic Committee (IOC) held talks with other three parties at the IOC headquarters in Lausanne, Switzerland, on Saturday to discuss the DPRK participation of the PyeongChang 2018 Winter Olympic Games next month in South Korea.

IOC President Thomas Bach, together with representatives of the PyeongChang 2018 Organizing Committee, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) and the Republic of Korea (ROK), attended the talks.

Details of the DPRK participation, involving numbers of athletes, scales, events, forms, and issues concerning etiquette and procedures, would be determined.

Meanwhile, some proposals made by ROK and DPRK at a high-level talks last week would also be checked.

On Friday, Bach held informal meetings with DPRK and ROK representatives respectively. He said the talks on Saturday would be constructive and was confident about the results.

Bach said an official statement would be announced after the talks.
