5. SOUNDBITE (Chinese) Wang Hui, vice president, China Minsheng Investment Group:
"China has shared the growth of the world’s economy by taking part in the WTO. Chinese enterprises have been greatly benefited from cross-border engagements. So as Chinese enterprises have grown into what they are today, they hope to open up China’s platform to the world, and welcome the participation of their global peers with an inclusive and open mindset. China has been engaging in cross-border development through its Belt and Road Initiative, which also aims at achieving common development."

7. Davos attendee Angus Stewart Deaton giving speech
8. SOUNDBITE (English) Angus Stewart Deaton, Nobel laureate and Davos attendee:
"The globalization is a major force for good in the world. Without globalization, without new technology, we’re not ever going to get better off. So China has made an enormous contribution by pushing that agenda and I think that is all for the good, but of course there are other forces, and people who are not benefiting from this, we have to spread that growth widely, and then we have to give everybody an interest, and these good times going on in the future."

10. SOUNDBITE (Chinese) Wang Hui, vice president, China Minsheng Investment Group:
"China is about to enter a stage for consumption upgrade covering a wide spectrum of sectors, for example those for people’s basic needs such as medical care, education, pension and health, and those for people’s well-being, such as tourism and sports, and also value added services in finance. It will bring an enormous amount of demand that could be the drivers for China’s next-stage economic growth. For Chinese enterprises, I think we should do whatever in line with the current trends in a pragmatic manner."

China is seeking common development with its global peers by pushing the process of globalization, according to the statements made by two Davos forum attendees Tuesday on the sidelines of the event that is getting underway in the Swiss ski resort of Davos .
Commenting the theme of this year’s Davos economic forum - "Creating a Shared Future in a Fractured World,” Wang Hui, the vice president of China Minsheng Investment Group, said the discussions on this topic in the following days will significantly influence the social and economic development of the countries around the world, and Chinese enterprises, as active participants in the process of globalization, are seeking common development with their global peers.

China has been engaging in cross-border development through its Belt and Road Initiative, which also aims at achieving common development,” said Wang.
Calling the western world’s inward-oriented development a disastrous development model, Nobel laureate Angus Stewart Deaton, who is also an attendee of the forum, said that globalization, which China has been actively pushing for, is the approach for sustainable development and will bring better opportunities to China.

Comparatively high economic growth for decades, which is inseparable from China's engagement in the globalization process, has brought China to a new stage to upgrade its people’s well-being, according to Wang Hui.
