The upcoming inter-Korean summit between leaders of the Republic of Korea (ROK) and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) later this month will become the starting point to thoroughly settle the Korean Peninsula issue, ROK Embassy in China said on Thursday.
ROK President Moon Jae-in and top DPRK leader Kim Jong Un will meet on April 27 at Peace House, a building on the ROK side in the Panmunjom, also called Joint Security Area (JSA) inside the demilitarized zone (DMZ) dividing the two Koreas.
The summit is currently under smooth preparation, ROK Minister to China Choi Youngsam said at a news briefing in Beijing.
The two sides have discussed communications, protocol, security and media coverage for the summit, Choi said, and an agreement is expected to be reached at the summit.

It would be the first time for DPRK top leader to enter the ROK side after the 1950-53 Korean War, and the meeting will be the third-ever inter-Korean summit, with the first two in 2000 and 2007 respectively.
