Storyline

Multi-types of aircraft of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) Air Force from multiple airports have conducted "island encirclement patrols" around Taiwan since Wednesday to train and improve China's ability to safeguard national sovereignty and territorial integrity.

"The PLA Air Force dispatched multiple types of aircraft, including the H-6K fighter bombers, Su-30 fighter jets, J-11 fighter jets, reconnaissance aircraft and airborne early warning (AEW) aircraft for the island encirclement patrols. They have improved the army's mobility and tested their combat capabilities," said Shen Jinke, spokesman for the PLA Air Force.

H-6K fighter bomber, as China's self-developed mid-long range new-type bomber, has been leading the charge in various ocean-going trainings and island encirclement patrols. Unlike in the past, this time the war planes dispatched form a more complete fighting system.

"Our war planes have become more sophisticated amid the great endeavor of reform and opening-up, strengthening and revitalizing the armed forces. With better aircraft and solid skills, our pilots will be more confident and courageous to face any challenge," said Zhai Peisong, captain of a H-6K bomber in PLA Air Force.

The aircraft flew over the Miyako Strait, Bashi Channel and the Tsushima Strait following international laws and practices. "Island Encirclement Patrol" has also become a routine training subject for the PLA Air Force.

"We will continue to conduct more island encirclement patrols with multi-type aircrafts according to the set plan. We have strong determination, full confidence and adequate capability to safeguard our national sovereignty and territorial integrity," Shen said.
