"The DPRK government attaches great importance to this. In the early morning on Monday, Chairman of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) Kim Jong Un went to the Chinese Embassy in DPRK and offered his condolences. Chairman Kim Jong Un asked Chinese Ambassador to DPRK Li Jinjun to convey his sincere sympathy to General Secretary Xi Jinping, the Communist Party of China, Chinese government, Chinese people and families of the victims. Kim is deeply sorry about the heavy casualty of Chinese citizens caused by the accident. That night Chairman Kim went to the hospital to visit the two seriously injured Chinese tourists. He said that the DPRK will make all-out efforts to treat and cure the injured and cooperate with China to properly deal with the follow-ups. China expresses appreciation to Chairman Kim Jong Un who went to the Chinese Embassy to offer his condolences and visited the injured Chinese citizens in the hospital."

China will work closely with the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) on the major traffic accident that happened on Sunday, said Lu Kang, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman, on Tuesday.

A bus crash on Sunday night in North Hwanghae province, in the southwest of the DPRK, killed 32 Chinese tourists and four DPRK citizens, and left two other Chinese in critical condition.

Top leader of the DPRK Kim Jong Un on Monday went to the Chinese Embassy in Pyongyang to offer his condolences and went to the hospital to visit the two injured Chinese tourists.

Lu expressed China's appreciation to Chairman Kim Jong Un at the beginning of the briefing.
