The Shanghai Wild Animal Park officially named its latest two panda cubs on Wednesday, six months after the pair were born.

The male panda cub, which was born on Oct. 4 last year, was named "Xuebao", and the slightly younger female, which was born on Oct. 10, was named "Qianjin".

The bears have been the star attractions in the park since they were born. In order to name them, the park recently launched an online campaign to solicit ideas from the public.

Finally, Xuebao and Qianjin were chosen from a list of more than 5,000 suggestions.

"Now that they have cute names, we can call them by their names during our daily training and feeding, then gradually establish a conditioned reflex for them, which will make taking care of them much easier for us," said Yu Jinhua, deputy head of the management department at the Shanghai Wild Animal Park.

Both Xuebao, which currently weighs about 20 kilograms, and Qianjin, which weighs 17 kilograms, are in good health.

"Both the cubs and their mothers are in good health, especially Sixue's baby Xuebao, who weighs more and in better condition compared to others of the same age," said panda expert Tang Chunxiang from the China Conservation and Research Center for Giant Panda.

Le Parc animalier sauvage de Shanghai a officiellement donné mercredi des noms à ses deux bébés pandas de six mois.

Le panda mâle, né le 4 octobre l’année dernière, a été baptisé du nom de "Xuebao" (Bébé de la neige). Quant à la femelle, qui est née le 10 octobre, elle a été nommée "Qianjin" (Trésor inestimable).

Depuis leur naissance, les ursidés sont les vedettes du parc. Afin de leur donner un nom gratifiant, le parc a récemment lancé une campagne en ligne pour solliciter les idées du public. Xuebao et Qianjin ont finalement été choisis parmi plus de 5 000 suggestions.

"Maintenant qu’ils ont des noms mignons, nous pouvons les appeler par leur nom pendant l’entraînement, l’élevage et la gestion au quotidien, pour établir graduellement un réflexe conditionné chez eux. Cela va faciliter notre élevage et notre gestion ultérieurs", a expliqué Yu Jinhua, chef adjoint du département de gestion du Parc animalier sauvage de Shanghai.

À l’heure actuelle, Xuebao, qui pèse environ 20 kg, et Qianjin, 17 kg, sont en bonne santé.

"Les deux bébés pandas et leur mère sont tous en bonne santé, en particulier, Xuebao, le bébé de Sixue, qui se développe un peu plus vite et pèse un peu plus que d’autres de son âge", s’est réjoui Tang Chunxiang, expert du Centre de recherche et de conservation du panda géant de Chine.

Двум шестимесячным детенышам большой панды в Шанхайском зоопарке диких животных 25 апреля официально даны имена.

Самец, родившийся 4 октября прошлого года, получил имя Сюэбао, а самка, появившаяся на свет чуть позже, 10 октября того же года, получила имя Цяньцзинь. Матери малышей - это панды по кличке Сысюэ и Цяньцянь

Сразу после рождения детеныши панды стали звездами зоопарка, привлекая большое внимание и интерес общественности. Сотрудники зоопарка создали интернет-опрос для того, чтобы все желающие смогли предложить свои варианты имен для новорожденных бамбуковых медведей. В ответ зоопарк получил более пяти тысячи версий.

"Теперь, когда у них есть милые имена, мы можем называть их по именам во время их ежедневных тренировок и кормлении, постепенно вырабатывая у них условные рефлексы, которые облегчат для нас контроль и уход за ними", – рассказал замдиректора отдела управления животными Шанхайского зоопарка диких животных Юй Цзиньхуа.

В настоящее время оба детеныша находятся в хорошем физическом состоянии. Сюэбао весит около 20 кг, а Цяньцзинь – 17 кг.

"И матери, и детеныши панды находятся в хорошем состоянии, особенно малыш Сюэбао от Сысюэ. Он весит больше и его состояние еще даже лучше, чем у других детенышей того же возраста", – сказал профессор Китайского центра по охране и исследованию больших панд Тан Чуньсян.

El Parque Safari de Shanghai bautizó oficialmente el pasado miércoles a sus últimos dos cachorros de panda, seis meses después de su nacimiento.

El macho, nacido el 4 de octubre de 2017, obtuvo el nombre de "Xuebao", mientras la hembra, nacida el 10 de octubre, fue bautizada como "Qianjin".

Los dos plantígrados atrajeron la atención del zoológico desde su nacimiento. El Parque Safari lanzó en fechas recientes una campaña en línea para recibir sugerencias del público con nombres para bautizarlos.

Los nombres Xuebao y Qianjin fueron elegidos de entre una lista de más de cinco mil opciones.

"Los ositos tienen nombres muy lindos, vamos a llamarles por su nombre durante su adiestramiento y alimentación, para ir estableciendo un reflejo condicionado, el cual facilitará sus cuidados en el futuro", explicó Yu Jinhua, subdirector del departamento de administración del Parque Safari de Shanghai.

Tanto Xuebao, que pesa ahora unos 20 kilógramos, como Qianjin, de 17 kilógramos, se encuentran en óptimas condiciones.

"Tanto los dos cachorros como sus madres se encuentran en buen estado. En especial, el niño de Sixue ha crecido muy bien, mejor que la mayoría de la misma edad. Pesa un poco más que otros", dijo Tan Chunxiang, experto en pandas del Centro de Conservación e Investigación de la Panda Gigante de China.
