Top leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) Kim Jong Un personally saw off a special train carrying Chinese victims of a traffic accident in the early hours of Thursday at the Pyongyang Railway Station.
Kim boarded the train and sent his condolences and sympathy to the Chinese victims and their families before the special train carrying two injured Chinese tourists and the bodies of 32 others departed for China.
Kim and other DPRK leaders also sent messages of condolences to the Chinese leaders after the accident took place on Sunday.
Many senior Party and governmental officials from the DPRK escorted the victims on the special train, which also carried Chinese Ambassador to the DPRK Li Jinjun, a special group of Chinese diplomats and medical experts.
The train arrived at Shenyang City of northeast China’s Liaoning Province at 09:00 Thursday Beijing time. Gao Xiaobing, China’s vice minister of civil affairs, greeted it on behalf of the Chinese government. Relevant authorities and local governments of China will continue to provide proper assistance for the families of the victims.
