Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi and Dutch Foreign Minister Stef Blok agreed to strengthen bilateral ties in Buenos Aires on Sunday on the sideline of the 2018 G20 Meeting of Foreign Affairs Ministers.
Noting that the Netherlands is one of China's important partners in the European Union, Wang said China is willing to maintain a sound and steady development of relations, as well as to practically implement consensus reached by leaders of both countries.
Wang also hoped the Dutch side will continue to provide a fair, friendly, and open environment for bilateral trade and investment, promote bilateral connectivity and deepen cooperation in various sectors under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).
Blok said the Netherlands expects to deepen cooperation with China in various areas, and seeks stronger cooperation under the BRI. He said the Netherlands always supports free trade and open economy, and appreciates the way China handles trade frictions.
