Storyline


Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi and Burkina Faso's Foreign Minister Alpha Barry signed a joint communique on Saturday in Beijing on officially restoring diplomatic relations.

According to the communique, the two countries recognize each other and resume the diplomatic relations at the ambassadorial level.

The two countries' governments agree to develop friendly relations on the basis of the principles of mutual respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity, mutual non-aggression, noninterference in each other's internal affairs, equality and mutual benefit, and peaceful coexistence.

The west African country has cut the so-called "diplomatic ties" with Taiwan on Thursday and will not have any official exchange with Taiwan, said Barry.
