U.S. President Donald Trump said on Saturday that he is looking at the Singapore summit with Kim Jong Un, top leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), on June 12.
"We're looking at June 12 in Singapore. It hasn't changed," Trump said at the White House.
The U.S. president was speaking after meeting with Joshua Holt, a Utah man who flew back to the United States on Saturday after being held for two years in jail in Venezuela.
Trump earlier tweeted that Washington was having "very productive talks" with Pyongyang, and that the summit was "likely" to happen as scheduled.
The White House also announced it was sending an advance team of about 30 officials to Singapore to prepare for the summit.
Should the summit take place, it would be the first time for a sitting U.S. president to meet a DPRK leader.
