U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo will brief China on the summit meeting between U.S. President Donald Trump and top leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) Kim Jong Un during his visit to China, said Chinese foreign ministry spokesman Geng Shuang at a regular briefing on Wednesday in Beijing.
Geng said that at the invitation of Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi, Pompeo will visit China on Thursday. It is his first visit to China since he became the U.S. Secretary of State.
Geng said: "It conforms the common interests not only of the two sides but also of the world and what the international community expects for the two major powers of China and the United States to maintain a healthy and stable development of the bilateral relations.
