The 21st Shanghai International Film Festival wrapped up Sunday, with the winners of the Golden Goblet Awards announced.
More than 3,400 films from 108 countries and regions took part in the film festival and 13 of them competed for the Golden Goblet Awards.
Chinese film "Ala Changso" won the Best Screenplay and the Grand Jury Prix ; while "Out of Paradise", which was jointly made by Switzerland and Mongolia, won Best Feature Film category. The Best Director award was earned by "A Translator" produced by Cuba and Canada.
Sonthar Gyal, director of Ala Changso, said he owed much to the place where the film was created.
"It's a quite honest and down-to-earth film without anything flashy or showy. It was created in Jiarong, Sichuan, so I really appreciate all the inspirations this land had given me so that I could write many more stories like this," said Gyal.
American film "Friday's Child" bagged the Best Photography and actor Tye Sheridan won the Best Actor for the same movie.
The Best Actress went to Isabelle Blais for the Canadian movie "Tadoussac".
"Maquia: When the Promised Flower Blooms" won the Best Animation Film, while "The Long Season" won the Best Documentary Film.
