China is not afraid of a trade war, if it is left no other options, a spokesman of the country's Ministry of Commerce said on Thursday.
The solution of trade frictions with the United States will rest on trust between the world's two largest economies in negotiations, Gao Feng, the spokesman, made the comment in a regular briefing.

The U.S. decision to impose 25-percent tariffs on Chinese goods worth 34 billion U.S. dollars took effect on July 6.
Only a few days later on Tuesday, the United States released a new list of more tariffs imposed on Chinese products worth around 200 billion U.S. dollars.
