Chinese President Xi Jinping is scheduled to meet Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the upcoming BRICS summit to be held in Johannesburg, South Africa, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying said at a regular press conference on Friday in Beijing.

Hua said the two leaders will discuss multiple issues, including bilateral relations and cooperation within the BRICS framework.

"During the BRICS summit in Johannesburg, President Xi has plans to hold bilateral meetings with leaders of relevant countries including India. The meeting in Johannesburg will be the second meeting between the two leaders in just a few months after they held an successful meeting in Wuhan City in April.
