Rainstorm battered Pingshan County, southwest China's Sichuan Province on Thursday, causing one missing.
Heavy rains swept towns, including Zhongdu, Taiping and Longhua of Pingshan, causing severe floods and damage.
The Zhongdu River, which flows through Zhongdu Town, has been swelled by rainstorm and exceeded the warning water level by two meters in some sections.
Until 19:30 Thursday, the flood has left one person missing, and three others unaccounted for. Local government has been organizing search-and-rescue operations after urgently evacuating over 1,500 people.
After the flood occurred, Pingshan County initiated a level-IV emergency response for flood control and relief. A total of 150 people have been sent to affected areas to carry out rescue operations.
Communication in Pingshan County has remained out of service, while relief and rescue work is still underway. No casualties have been reported so far.
