Storyline


The new technologies and smart gadgets displayed at the site of the 12th Summer Davos Forum, which opened on Tuesday in north China port city of Tianjin, have attracted large number of visitors and sent their imagination fly on the innovative society in the fourth industrial revolution.

The most attractive are a human voice analysis system and a bionic camera created by researchers from Carnegie Mellon University in America. It can analyze people's health conditions and characters just through their voices without aid of any cameras.

"If you have a higher heart rate, you can easily see it in somebody's voice. This is our latest research, it's very new we still didn't put any application. But when you use it in actual medicine, one use could be in underdeveloped countries where they don't have enough doctors, people can actually call into the machine and then speak and then be told that you need to check [with] a doctor," said a researcher from Carnegie Mellon University.

The bionic camera with 1000 megapixels was made mimicking the eyes of an insect.

"We have made a camera by mimicking the eyes of insect. It is good enough for the camera of a mobile phone to reach 20-megapixels. But our camera has 1,000 megapixel. It is mainly used in a city's security surveillance. In a public area, one can see clearly people moving in the structure if it is used to monitor the top level of that structure, " said an exhibitor.
