"President Moon Jae-in arrived in Pyongyang, the capital of the DPRK, this morning, and met with DPRK top leader Kim Jong Un. As a close neighbor of the Korean Peninsula, China is pleased to see and supports the inter-Korean contacts and dialogs to implement the Panmunjom Declaration and advance reconciliation and cooperation, which are in the common interests of the both sides and the region and also what the international community expects."

China will continue to give full support for the improvement of relations between the two countries, and make its own efforts and contribution to long-term stability on the Korean Peninsula and in Northeast Asia."

China welcomes and supports the interactions between the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) and the Republic of Korea (ROK), Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Geng Shuang said on Tuesday.
Geng's remarks came after President of the ROK Moon Jae-in arrived in Pyongyang on Tuesday for a much-anticipated meeting with Kim Jong Un, top leader of the DPRK, for the third inter-Korean summit this year.
"As a close neighbor of the Korean Peninsula, China is pleased to see and supports the inter-Korean contacts and dialogs to implement the Panmunjom Declaration and advance reconciliation and cooperation, which are in the common interests of the both sides and the region and also what the international community expects," said Geng.
Kim and Moon met in the truce village of Panmunjom on the border on April 27 and May 26, respectively. Their meetings were seen as major milestones in the relations between the DPRK and the ROK.

Moon is expected to stay in Pyongyang for three days through Thursday. The Pyongyang summit aims to implement the Panmunjom Declaration issued after the first inter-Korean summit in April.
