It is absolutely out of ulterior motives for some U.S. companies and individuals to make groundless accusations against China by using the pretext of cyber spying. I think you still remember that according to the materials revealed by Edward Snowden, it is a clear fact to the international society as to which country has been carrying out long-term massive surveillance on foreign governments, companies and individuals and who is the largest cyber attacker. We urge the United States to stop smearing China by using the excuse of cyber spying, to stop its words and actions that damage China's interests and China-US relations."

China urged the United Stated to stop smearing it on the excuse of cyber spying and attack, Foreign Ministry spokesman Lu Kang said on Friday.

Lu made the remarks in response to reports by some U.S. internet security companies, saying China has increased its spying activities on the trade secrets of U.S. companies in the past six months.

"China is one of the major victims of cyber spying and attacks, but at the same time, it is a staunch advocate of cyber security. China has always firmly opposed and cracked down on any forms of cyber spying and attacks," said Lu Kang.

Lu said that it is absolutely out of ulterior motives for some U.S. companies and individuals to make groundless accusations against China by using the pretext of cyber spying.

"I think you still remember that according to the materials revealed by Edward Snowden, it is a clear fact to the international society as to which country has been carrying out long-term massive surveillance on foreign governments, companies and individuals and who is the largest cyber attacker," said Lu.

"We urge the United States to stop smearing China by using the excuse of cyber spying, to stop its words and actions that damage China's interests and China-US relations,” he added.

Snowden, a former contractor for the Central Intelligence Agency, revealed thousands of classified documents to the press before fleeing to Russia in 2013.

China instó hoy viernes a Estados Unidos (EEUU) a que deje de difamar a China con la excusa del espionaje y ataques cibernéticos, indicó Lu Kang, portavoz del Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores.

Lu hizo estas declaraciones en una conferencia de prensa rutinaria en Beijing, en respuesta a los informes hechos por algunas compañías de EEUU de seguridad cibernética, que decían que China ha aumentado sus actividades de espionaje cibernético sobre los secretos comerciales de las compañías de EEUU en los últimos seis meses.

"China es una de las principales víctimas de espionaje y ataques cibernéticos, pero al mismo tiempo, es un firme defensor de la seguridad cibernética. China siempre se ha opuesto con firmeza y reprimido cualquier forma de espionaje y ataques cibernéticos", afirmó Lu.

El vocero subrayó que algunas compañías e individuos de EEUU tienen motivos ocultos al hacer acusaciones infundadas contra China utilizando el pretexto del espionaje cibernético.

"Creo que ustedes recuerdan que, de acuerdo con los materiales revelados por Edward Snowden, es un hecho claro para la sociedad internacional qué país ha estado llevando a cabo una vigilancia masiva a largo plazo en gobiernos, empresas e individuos extranjeros y quién es el atacante cibernético más grande del mundo", indicó Lu.

"Instamos a EEUU a que deje de difamar a China con la excusa del espionaje cibernético, detener sus palabras y acciones que dañan los intereses de China y las relaciones entre los dos países", agregó.

Snowden, un ex contratista de la Agencia Central de Inteligencia (CIA) de EEUU, reveló miles de documentos clasificados a la prensa antes de huir a Rusia en 2013.
