China is willing to further expand two-way opening-up with France, Chinese Premier Li Keqiang said on Thursday when meeting French President Emmanuel Macron on the sidelines of the 12th Asia-Europe Meeting Summit in Brussels, Belgium.
Li said that President Macron and Prime Minister Edouard Philippe reached new consensus with China on promoting bilateral ties and pragmatic cooperation during their China visit this year and new results have been achieved.
China is willing to further expand two-way opening-up, and promote a balanced growth of trade and investment, so as to provide a positive prospect to enterprises of the two countries, Li noted.
China-EU investment agreement negotiations and China-France cooperation on trade and investment can move ahead in parallel, said Li, adding that China will firmly support solidarity, stability and prosperity of the European Union as always.
China is willing to work with France and EU to jointly safeguard rule-based multilateral system and free trade mechanism, Li added.
For his part, Macron said France is willing to decide on a roadmap for trade and investment cooperation between the two countries as soon as possible.
France resolutely supports multilateralism and is willing to strengthen communication and coordination with China on issues of World Trade Organization reform and climate change among others, he added.
