Shanghai Customs announced multiple measures to facilitate customs clearance for the upcoming China International Import Expo (CIIE) during a press conference held on Thursday afternoon.
With the CIIE scheduled to open on Nov. 5, a growing number of exhibits from different countries are starting to arrive in Shanghai. In order to make the customs clearance process smoother, Shanghai Customs has been working over the clock to come up with a variety of customs clearance facilitation measures.
"We have successively formulated an overall work plan on regulatory and service by Shanghai Customs, 26 plans for customs clearance supervision, security, emergency, education and training, and 106 detailed tasks. We also clarified road maps, task books and timetables, proposed five customs clearances facilitation measures, and three innovative initiatives," said Huang Yuming, the Deputy Head of Shanghai Customs.
Shanghai Customs has also imported exhibits information into the Expo online platform and added the list of related exhibits into a single window exhibit system to enable for online clearance application and expedite the process.
Over 40,000 important guests and participants around the world are to attend the Expo, with a large number of high-tech and advanced special exhibits to be on display.
