People gathered in the city hall of Thousand Oaks in the U.S. state of California on Thursday to mourn the victims killed in a mass shooting in a bar on Wednesday.
The shooting left 13 people dead, including a police officer and the gunman, with more than 20 others wounded, local authorities have confirmed.
Many people lined up in the city hall to get candles and enter the hall for the mourning. Among the mourners were classmates and friends of the victims, who made the majority of the dead.
"You got to get through it. You got to just pick yourself up and continue on. And it's kind of hard thing. It shouldn't happen, but it does," said a local resident at the hall.
The bar was hosting a college night when the shooting occurred, so most of the victims were young people aged around 20.
The police are announcing their identity information. Some of the victims were students at universities nearby, and some just graduated from college or were ready to join the army. Their death grieved the entire city of Thousand Oaks.
